Bronwen Smith
Bronwen Smith is a busy film, television and theatre actor as well as being one of the creative forces behind Biz Books.
Last summer she went to Osoyoos, B.C. to film a Canadian Western. Watch for her as Beatrice in the feature film Gunless (April 30, 2010) starring Paul Gross.
Other recent film credits include two features, The Beast of Bottomless Lake and Helix. In addition, Bronwen has performed in a number of locally produced independent short films including the recently screened Big Head (both the Toronto and Vancouver Film Festival). Other short films include The Green Film (Crazy8s), Love Seat, which screened at the Toronto, Vancouver, Cinequest (San Jose) and Whistler Film Festivals (Best Short at Whistler). Television credits include Supernatural, Mistresses, The Guard, Reaper, The 4400, Imaginary Playmate, Da Vinci’s Inquest and Alice, I Think . Numerous commercial credits include CIBC, Junior Achievement, Western Lottery, Renault, and ICBC.
In 2009, Bronwen returned to the stage as Sister Mary Kate in Evolving Arts Collective’s production of Beggars in the House of Plenty. In Fall 2010, look for her and Wendy Morrow Donaldson in the powerful Pulitzer Prize winning play ‘Night, Mother and in What You Will Equity Co-op’s production of Twelfth Night. Other select stage credits include the Jessie award winning production of The Maiden’s Prayer (Lighted Fools Equity Co-op), Five Women Wearing the Same Dress (Horned Moon), A Bright Room Called Day (A Somewhat Co-operative), Elegy for a Lady & Cowabunga (Pak-N-Go Prod.), and Richard III & The Winter’s Tale (Savage God’s Bardathon).
