NFB Wants You To See
Filed under: canadian filmSo how cool is this: The National Film Board of Canada , Canada’s public film producer and distributor, who have provided the country and world with a unique perspective for over 65 years by breaking ground in socially engaged documentary, auteur animation, alternative drama and more, have just launched their new national online Screening Room. They have been hard at work for over a year to make the site a reality and we join them in celebrating that the launch day has arrived! The Screening Room is meant to make the NFB’s collection of films accessible to all those who want to see them. The site will be updated by the NFB each week with new titles and new titles this week include Carts of Darkness, Waterwalker, The Magic Lion and Lonely Boy, a film about Paul Anka’s rise to fame and the marketing machine behind a generation of pop stars.

The site also include a selection of playlists compiled by both NFB experts and invited guests. These playlists include a selection of films with accompanying commentaries intended to offer added perspective. So hey, check out some of the best of Canadian Cinema from the folks who along the way, have crafted over 12,000 productions and received more than 5000 awards, including 12 Oscars® and more than 90 Genies.
The Cat Came Back is still one of our faves…....and we just can’t stay away…from NFB.ca!
